We had a cool thing at the booth this week – a demo that let you pit any handset against Xperia Z in a “display-off”.
It went a little something like this – two microscopes were set up, linked to larger screens. Xperia Z remained under one, with the microscope’s findings on the left monitor.
The second microscope was for any handset that fancied the challenge, with display sharpness visualised on the right hand screen – see the image below with an example.
Avoiding the temptation to fully geek out here, but essentially, the monitors visually depicted pixelation; greater the black area = less light efficiency = less sharpness.
As of now (the very end of MWC) – not one (nope, not one!) handset touched Xperia Z’s Full HD 1080p Reality Display!
