Next week is an exciting week for us in the Messaging team. We’re off to London… but this is no holiday!
There will be no trips to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace or Tower Bridge for us. No, we’re doing something much more exciting: We will be at the London ExCeL centre for Nokia World 2010!
Maybe we will see you there!
And we have a lot of reasons to be excited…
Firstly, we have come a long way since Nokia World 2009 in Stuttgart:
• Never before have we been able to showcase so many devices which feature email, instant messaging and social networking
• Last year we had just over 1M Ovi Mail subscribers. Now we have over 14M Ovi Mail and 3M Ovi Chat users, many of whom live in emerging markets. Nokia is helping these consumers stay connected in a whole new way with their first email and instant messaging accounts.
• A year ago we were driving 30K activations a week now more that 30K consumer are activating Messaging every day.
But Nokia World is all about the future. It’s about what is coming next… and how is communication changing.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at what you’ll be able to see in London next week:
• We will have Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat demos on all our latest devices in the Connecting Everyone area.
• The new Nokia C6 and Nokia N8 email application is on show at the Work and Life experience center and you can find out more about that from Davis in this video:
• In the Mobile Computing experience area we will be demonstrating our new social experience for the Nokia N8 , showing how Ovi can help you to share, learn and know more in real-time – helping you stay connected in new and better ways.
Even if you won’t make it to Nokia World next week make sure you keep an eye on this blog – as we will be posting our videos and thoughts on all the best conversations around email, IM and social networking…
