It’s not every day that you get one unannounced handset taking spy shots of another unannounced handset, but that’s exactly what’s been going on in these photos obtained by Japanese site ‘Blog of Mobile!!’ (yes they do have two exclamation points in their names).
The pictures appeared in a Picasa account and were taken by a handset with model number LT15i at a resolution of 8 MP. Now the current rumblings are that this is Anzu, the unannounced follow up to the X10 and purportedly called the X12, but perhaps now going to be named Arc, Duo or Neo.
At any rate the pictures were taken by four users, one with the name ‘Rachael.tester’. ‘Rachael’ was the codename for the X10 so it’s a small leap to imagine the same chap (or chapess) testing out its successor. However, Anzy apparently has a 12 MP camera so unless it was shotting at below maximum then perhaps it isn;t Anzu after all, but some other unannounced handset.
Ok well if we’re not entirely sure what handset was taking the pictures then we certainly don’t know what handset is in the pictures. It’s an Android handset running Gingerbread and looks to be on Vodafone Germany. The curve at the top is reminiscent of Vivaz (thank God the OS isn’t though!).
The handset is said to be codenamed ‘hallon’ with a model number of MT15i. Note the presence of a rather large camera module on the front. Nothing particularly new about handset having front facing cameras, but then it is rather largerer than normal and most Android handsets don’t come with front facing cameras yet so it looks like video calling is back in vogue. Viva la 2003!
