As seasons across the world have pretty much wrapped, and national managers are praying that their stars can get through international training unscathed, here at Sony we’re making our own 2014 FIFA World Cup™ preps…
Sony is an official FIFA partner, and as such, we wanted to create some uniquely Sony experiences through our Xperia™ Lounge, and SmartWear Experience. So, here’s a couple of the ways we’ll be bringing you closer to the action this summer…
Firstly, we’re launching a series of limited edition SmartWear Experience products and accessories for football fans – “Brazil” editions of SmartBand, SmartWatch 2, Stereo Bluetooh Headset (SBH20), and Wireless Speaker (SRS-BTV5) will be official accessories of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.
Secondly, from today we’re launching “Sony Football Challenge™” – a new app within Xperia Lounge that will give you info, updates and news as the tournament progresses and all the action unfolds.
It’ll also feature a predictor game across all 64 matches, letting you compete against friends and fellow fans across the globe to correctly anticipate match scores. It will keep a record of how you fared against friends and, for those who want the ultimate right-to-brag, there’s a global leaderboard to boot (sorry, sorry…).
When the final whistle blows, the 100 fans sitting atop the leaderboard will be awarded a selection of tiered prizes – ranging from a VIP package (including a trip to Morocco to attend 2014 FIFA Club World Cup), to selections of Sony Xperia smartphones & accessories, and FIFA memorabilia – check out the full list below!
For those of you who have a SmartWatch 2 or SmartBand, the app will integrate with your Xperia device to give you info, updates and notify you at kick-off, half and full time to let you know how you’re holding up.
And, for those using the smartphone-only version through Xperia Lounge, all of this will come together through our notifications tray as you might expect.
