It’s that time of year again where our PlayStation team is getting all excited about one of the biggest gaming events of the year – gamescom. Gamers and enthusiasts from across Europe will be heading to the annual exhibition in Cologne, Germany, where there’ll no doubt be a host of exciting announcements. We’re really keen to wet the appetite for what’s coming over the next 12 months and beyond – so keep an eye on Cologne.
If you can’t make it to Germany don’t panic, you can tune in live to our dedicated gamescom hub at 6.00pm BST/7.00pm CET on Tuesday 12th August.
If gaming isn’t your thing, (we’re not sure why it wouldn’t be) how about film making? For those of you who’ve enjoyed the stunning trailer of ‘Lucy’ featuring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman, well you can thank the Sony F65 – our top-end 8K motion picture camera. Renowned director of photography, Thierry Arbogast, who was working with director Luc Besson, shot the whole film with this incredible piece of kit. More interested in watching films than making ‘em? Well, you’re in luck too as the wait is finally (nearly) over. Over the next few days, The Amazing Spider-ManTM 2 is being released on the PlayStation store, meaning you can download the witty web slinger’s latest blockbuster and view it whenever you want. Note that launch dates do vary, but you can see the release schedule here.
