With the recent leaked shots of the hotly anticipated PlayStation phone attention is now turning to the gaming side of the deal, with many wondering how Sony Ericsson (or perhaps Sony) will address the matter.
Of interest to this issue is the fact that Sony Ericsson registered, and was awarded, tardemarks for the term ‘Z-Suystem’ as well as the owning the domain ‘z-system.com’. Why is this important? Well, if you take a peek at those leaked shots you will see in the upper left corner of the screen the text: ‘Z-System’. The trademark filings for Z-System include the following description: “software for interacting or playing with electronic or video games”.
That of course suggests that ‘Z-System’ is not specific to this particular handset, but rather the software platform underpinning it that will host the various games and other services the handset will undoubtedly need.
