You may remember back at Mobile World Congress when we first announced the XperiaTM Z2 Tablet, that we said we were even more ambitious for this product than for its precursor. Well that story takes a big step forward tomorrow when our flagship tablet will launch on pre-order in the US, exclusively with Verizon Wireless.
For a refresher on the awesome specs that come as standard in the slimmest and lightest waterproof tablet in the world1 check out the press release here or the specs page here but for Verizon Wireless customers the good news keeps getting better. With every purchase of an Xperia Z2 Tablet, they will receive access to an exclusive entertainment bundle that includes six blockbuster movies from Sony Pictures, an exclusive early access pass for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” when it becomes available for digital download, and 90 days of free music streaming through Sony’s “Music Unlimited” service.
Z2 Tablet will be available for pre-order from July 10 from Verizon’s website with retail prices set at $599.99 and, for a limited time, there will also be a $499.99 option available with a two-year activation. Z2 Tablet is expected to hit Verizon Wireless retail stores on July 17 and while stocks last, pre-order customers will also receive a free MDR-NC31EM Digital Noise Cancelling Headset with their purchase.
The US is an important growth market for Sony Mobile and our North America president Ravi Nookala summed up the announcement perfectly when he said: “From our Xperia Z2 Tablet and accessories, to exclusive Sony content and experiences, we’re pleased to be working with Verizon to bring a strong Sony proposition to their customers. This newly forged relationship with Verizon is an exciting proof point as we continue to build momentum in the U.S.”
