With the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil just around the corner we launched our Sony Football Challenge app on Monday within Xperia Lounge. The app keeps you updated on all the latest news, scores and information throughout all 64 matches, until the final World Cup whistle blows.
Sony Football Challenge includes a Predictor Game which allows you to complete against all of your friends and fellow football fans across the globe – the very best predictors / players will even get on the global league table. If you are lucky enough to be one of the 100 fans sitting at the top of the leaderboard when the game ends, there are awesome prizes to be won – from a VIP trip to Morocco to attend the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup to the latest Sony Xperia smartphones and accessories, and even limited FIFA memorabilia. See the full list of prizes here.
And if you happen the be the owner of SmartBand or SmartWatch 2, Sony Football Challenge app will integrate with your Xperia smartphone to provide notifications and second screen functionality respectively as all the action unfolds.
From referee’s whistles to wireless technology… this week we also launched our Wireless Charging Plate.
No cables or connectors needed. Just place your Xperia Z2 in the Wireless Charging cover onto your Wireless Charging Plate… and there you go.
Talking of innovation, we’ve also recently launched the Sony Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R. Incredibly talented photographer Joe Cornish shot stunning images of the equally bleak and beautiful Icelandic and Scottish scenery. All using the Alpha 7R. Joe’s images captured the landscapes in astounding detail; the photos truly reflect the capabilities of these ground-breaking cameras.
Before you go, make sure you check out the last episode of this season’s Take Out, featuring the ever fascinating Eoghan McDermott. The final episode features a great new film Tammy, written by Melissa McCarthy and her husband Ben. Melissa steals the show once again along with a cast of legends including Susan Sarandon and Cathy Bates. There’s also rampaging robots in EPOCH 2 and a great short film for the dog lovers out there with Steadfast Stanley.
That’s all for now. Have a great weekend!
