Hello everyone – this weekend we’ve been busy in Barcelona with final prep for Mobile World Congress next week…
The event, first held more than twenty years ago brings together anyone and everyone mobile tech (manufacturers, bloggers, journalists, analysts) – it is, without doubt, the global event in our industry.
Originally held at La Fira, the event has a new home for the first time this year – just down the road at Fira Gran Via. It’s a gigantic, state-of-the art space which is designed to house the show as it and our industry grows over the next few years.
We kicked things off this weekend with an exciting initiative – in partnership with GSMA, Xperia T is the official handset for MWC’s NFC experience!
The Mobile World Congress “NFC experience” is all about recognising the impact, and potential of near field communications to make our lives easier by letting us experience new ways of service and content delivery. The experience is embedded in this year’s MWC, but also around Barcelona too – delegates can interact with smart posters around Gran Via, touch / pay at shops and access info and discounts at touch points at the airport, restaurants, taxis and tourist hot spots around the city…
We’re providing selected delegates with Xperia Ts to access the experience – the handsets come with the latest NFC innovation, but also with different pre-loaded partner content.
