We’re still in denial that the 2014 FIFA World CupTM is actually over. We’ve had to hand the remote back to our families, flatmates and other halves, but we can all agree that it was one of best World Cup’s ever.
Delivering 150,000 minutes of spectacular HD and 4K footage from all across Brazil, directly to you, that’s the equivalent of travelling to the moon and back 12 times, or so we’re told. We hope you guys enjoyed the action as much as we did.
Fortunately, our football frenzy hasn’t completely ended. Throughout the 2014 FIFA World CupTM we teamed up with streetfootballworld to launch ‘Dream Goal 2014’. The programme will be running until 2015 and will be bringing twenty-five portable football stadiums to children in South America, Africa and other regions across the world.
At the workshops, the young players will learn the importance of leadership and gender equality through the beautiful game of football. We’ll carry on supporting the project for a whole year and we hope to see more than 30,000 children having the time of their lives. We set up three of these stadiums in the heart of Rio de Janeiro and now we’re working with streetworldfootball to bring these fun football workshops to as many children as we can.
Moving on from football, we met up with the incredibly talented Sophie Eggleton this week. The blogger, fashion editor, photographer, journalist, artist (and that’s but a few of her titles…) told us all about how she’s been getting on with her Xperia Z1 Compact. Make sure you check it out – her sketches are stunning!
Oh, and if any of you were lucky enough to be in Leicester Square for a VIP screening of Kasabian’s Summer Solstice gig you would have seen the World’s First Digital Red Carpet. It featured an interactive wall of Xperia Z2 Tablets – Not your typical bricks and mortar!
Lastly, we’ve just launched a major refresh of our Music Unlimited application for lucky PS4 owners. Better performance, easier navigation and improved music discovery = finding your favourite tracks so much quicker. Check out the new UI below. So if you’ve got that Friday feeling don’t be shy, turn it up!
That’s all from us, have a good one.
