Smartphones can be great tools for everybody, but what happens if we use them to remake reality? Well, we are finding out with Xperia Studio.
For the latest experiment, Xperia Studio collaborated with inventor and photographer Joergen Geerds to capture the incredible landscape in the Moab Desert, Utah in a full 360° panoramic video.
To capture the footage, Joergen built the first-ever smartphone powered 360 degree video recording rig: he used a 3D printer to manufacture a custom- made cradle that holds six Xperia neo phones in a ring, and then welded it to the handlebars of a mountain bike. Mark Sevenoff sped off down the Slickrock trail in the Moab Desert, Utah, while the phones recorded the trip, and Joegen stitched the video into an immersive 360 film.
Explore the interactive film that Joergen produced on XperiaStudio.com – and really get into the action discovering all the angles using your keyboard and mouse. And don’t forget to check out all the other videos and content we have there. You will be surprised on all that can be done with a Smartphone!
