Adobe and Qualcomm have been talking recently, and it seems that it is in a bid to get flash more optimized, whilst bringing flash to previous phones that didnt have it before.
What caught our eye, was they are supporting:
- Snapdragon MSM7×27 (for those who dont know what phones have those processors, they include the X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro and X8), which should support the web browser side of things
- And Snapdragon MSM8×55 (basically, most of the new Xperia range), which will enable HD video playback.
You can find a full list here of what phones contain which processor.
There are a couple of things that are left unclear:
- Why is the Xperia X10 left out of the list?
- When will it happen?
- Will the flash plugin now be Android 2.1 compatible, rather than Android 2.2?
In any event, I have tried to find out if the X10 can have flash, but as I said earlier: it can only have it if it runs Android 2.2, so hopefully it is available when X10 gets Android 2.3 update
