It’s not news to hear that Sony Ericsson are developing handsets for Microsoft’s new Windows Phone platform, but here we have what could be the first leaked information about said handsets. The two devices, named the X7 and the X7 Mini, appear in what are purported to be leaked slides.
The X7 looks to be sporting a 4.3 inch screen with a 1.2 GHz processor nestling under the hood. The camera is a not too shabby 8.1 MP affair that supports 710p recording. The handset also, curiously, has support for HDMI output. I say curious because Windows Phone apparently doesn’t support HDMI so this could be the fatal flaw in an otherwise convincing hoax or it could be that Windows Phone, at least where Sony Ericsson is concerned, does indeed support HDMI.
The X7 Mini is a smaller version of the X7 although with a 3.5 inch screen it can hardly be called ‘mini’. The processor isn’t quite as fast, being the more standard fare of a 1 GHz effort. The camera is beefe dup though, 10.1 MP and with x3 optical zoom and xenon flash.
Release dates, etc are of course non-existent at the moment, but given that these handsets are slated for next year expect to see them at MWC.
