This week in Sony: Hybrid mobile shops, new markets for PlayStation Mobile and pumpkins with holes in them.

Another week passes and as we roll into the festive season we bring you a novel way to go gift shopping. Our friends at the Sony Store US have announced a partnership with Ebay and Westfield Labs to create incredible digital storefronts. Shipping and payment are all handled through your smartphone whilst the whole storefront experience is created digitally – officially the coolest way to buy your loved one a shiny new Xperia Tablet Z for Christmas.

Elsewhere Sony Computer Entertainment announced earlier today that PlayStation Mobile will be rolling out in 9 new countries, bringing the total number of markets to 20. Users with PlayStation Certified devices and owners of the PS Vita will be able to access the new content from December the 18th.

In this week’s episode of “the take out” Eoghan and the team look at the newly released android version of the Kickstarter funded Star Command, as well as some stunning stop motion animations of fish and a beautiful documentary about a couple of struggling Japanese artists.

And finally… If Pumpkin carving is your thing, check out this video from the team at SGNL, we liked the Walkman one best.

That’s it for this week, enjoy the weekend.
