Xperia S has a non removable battery, or does it?

The Xperia S’ whitepaper says it’s an “Embedded Battery“. And yes, it really has an embedded battery; that means you cannot remove it or use a spare one. It is one of the undesirable factors that repulses users from choosing Xperia S despite its excellent camera and the gorgeous design. People who really like to have higher capacity third-party batteries to pro long the battery life of this HD display smartphone are highly disappointed by the fact that it packs a non removable battery.

Anyway, to those who are really fascinated by the smartphone but doubting to buy it just because of its embedded battery, here is some good news for you. It seems the battery is not that embedded as it says! If you can remove the screws on the back cover (including a few torx screws) and then you can open the chassis and access the battery.

Here’s a video depicting how to do it. ( It seems the user had already removed the screws and it is not shown in the video). Now it means that the battery can be removed if you really need to but it has the tiring process of removing the screws and replacing it each time you need to do it.
