Sony officially confirms that the deal to acquire Ericsson’s 50 percent stake in the joint venture of Sony Ericsson is complete as of 15 February 2012.
From now on, there is no Sony Ericsson and the mobile department of the company will bear the title, ‘Sony Mobile Communications’. As in the email they sent out earlier, they said they are now focussing on to the integration of the Smartphones to their existing lineup of network enabled consumer electronics products like tablets, TVs and PCs.
There is nothing more in their official press release but we expect to hear more from Sony in the upcoming MWC 2012.
