You’ll receive this “Error 49″ message if you attempt to play a movie on a rooted device. Rooted devices are currently unsupported due to requirements related to copyright protection.
It seems that Google is afraid of getting trouble from the big movie studios because users with rooted phones would be able to copy the downloaded files to their computer or anything else and then crack the DRM protection. But: The most users of rooted devices know how to get their movies from other sources and copy them then to DVD or something else. Anyways UK users should not be affected of this because they don’t have access to the movie service, yet.
At the moment only user from the U.S. can download movies from there. A few movies only cost 1.99$ and can be watched within 30 days.
