Last month Sony Ericsson announced a
new range of accessories called Smart Extras. The first of these are the LiveDock and LiveSound. Today we have managed to find these on Play, and are at very reasonable prices.
The LiveDock is basically a docking stations for, well, resting your phone for when you aren’t using it, though you can set it to do different things when you have the LiveWare manager app installed. This is currently on pre-order from Play.com for £29.99, though RRP is at £39.99.
The LiveSound is a headset with a cable that doesn’t tangle. It also features a key that you can program yourself to do what you want it to, depending on how many times you press that button. LiveSound is on pre-order from Play.com for the price of £39.99, instead of the RRP of £49.99.
Both accessories have a release date of 15 August 2011. and will be mostly compatible with all new Xperia handsets.
Sony Ericsson appears to love Android, and so do we. But someone else loves it so much, they decided to go the whole hog and make an Android robot:
Whilst it may have problems staying on its wheels, we can’t help but fall in love with it.
As well as the
new Smart Accessories hitting pre-order on Play, Play have also got the Xperia Active and Xperia Ray on pre-order too.
Xperia Ray is a 3.3 inch smartphone with Android 2.3, 854 x 480 display powered by Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA engine and an 8.1MP camera with the Exmor R lens, just like the Xperia Arc. Play have this on pre-order for £349.99, and all being well will be released on 15 August 2011.
Xperia Active has a 3 inch touch screen, the usual 4 corned layout as used in the Xperia Mini’s, and also has a 5MP HD camera. Play has this phone on pre-order for £229.99 and should be released on 09 September 2011. Also, the lucky chaps at S-First.com managed to get hold of a Xperia Active, and here’s a video with what they done with it.
I visited ebay today and saw 2 very good offers for brand new Xperia Plays.
They come unbranded and without simlock.
You can buy them
here in black and
here in white.
They are around 100€ cheaper there than everywhere else.
