Some really cool things have been happening around Xperia PLAY recently.

For all of you that are big fans of mobile gaming, Xperia PLAY and EA, we have a great promotion where you get free downloads of four of EA’s top titles: Battlefield: Bad Company 2,  Need for Speed Shift, Dead Space, and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.

Also, we announced, together with SilverTree media, that their new title Sleepy Jack has launched last week exclusively on Xperia PLAY, and the price is only 99 US cents. Check on your Games Launcher for the local price.  Sleepy Jack was first announced for Xperia PLAY during E3 and shown during Gamescom, and I have been waiting for it for a while now, so I’m really excited that’s available!

Sleepy Jack is a really arcade-style game, where you guide Jack through a  his dreams, using his rocket pack to collect, dash, dodge and shoot. You can see the trailer here.

No zobaczymy… [...]

I was at a business trip last week and called a colleague in the morning to check if he was ready for breakfast. As he answered, the noise in the background made me ask if he was already on his way to the morning meeting. “No, not at all”, he said. “I’m in the shower!”  I hadn’t thought about it before but maybe Xperia™ active will create new kinds of behavior.

Maybe I can continue my life showering without my phone but being able to use it in pouring rain is very convenient. The Wet-finger tracking functionality of the touch screen makes that possible. Xperia active is not only the perfect partner for jumping in puddles with the kids, it’s also the perfect training partner. I’ve been using my Garmin cardio belt with a number of Xperia phones now (all Xperia Android phones except X10 has ANT+ compatibility) but the size of  Xperia™ active and the great training accessories included in the box have qualified Xperia™ active as my preferred phone for training.

I’ve been pretty nice to my Xperia™ active but the poor phone almost seems to provoke people. Just like the surfer in the video above, DC Rainmaker, an American triathlon athlete and blogger, decided to really put Xperia™ active to the test. He unpacked it, tried out the ANT+ functionality with a cardio belt, went running, went swimming and even treated Xperia™ active to some of his sports gel. Then he wrote about the whole test on his blog.  I really enjoy reading his thorough product review and the discussion going on the comments but I also feel the need to say: Don’t try all of that at home:-)
