Earlier this week, you’ll hopefully have seen that we gave you the chance to bring forward and control the timings of our latest product announcement on Facebook…

Well, we had an incredible response – you moved our announcement forward 9 days, 4 hours and 58 minutes!

YOU asked and here it is: Xperia miro, with Xperia tipo – stylish, fun, colourful and easy to use smartphones from Sony.

Xperia miro is slim and stylish, available in a fun range of colours with deep Facebook integration throughout including in contacts, photo gallery and the music player, plus Sony’s xLOUD audio technology for crisp and loud sound.

Xperia tipo is easy to use enabling you to get the most from your smartphone – whether  it be browsing the web, sharing pictures or downloading apps. Xperia tipo will also be available in a dual SIM version – Xperia tipodual – giving you the chance to switch between tariffs with just one touch to stay on the most cost effective plan.

Both smartphones will launch on the latest Android software, Ice Cream Sandwich and will start shipping globally in Q3 2012.

We know many of you guys are both experienced and qualified old-hand developers, so you might be interested in something our Developer World colleagues are running at the moment.

You’ll also notice that he mentions a cool initiative we’re running at the moment, giving developers the chance to get a free SmartWatch and their names in lights on our social media channels (with permission of course)…

We’re looking for new, creative ideas for SmartWatch app extensions, and if you submit a new SmartWatch enabled app to Google Play before the 26th of this month, we’ll also throw you (not literally) a Smart Wireless Headset pro as a bonus.
