The music industry is full of great partnerships that rocked our world. Think of Simon and Garfunkel, Lennon and McCartney, Jagger and Richards. While neither Nokia nor Monster are likely to have number one albums like these guys, they’re still the best at what they do. No surprise, then, that together they’ve created headsets that hit all the right notes. Here’s why we’re sure Nokia Purity by Monster will top your charts.
A duo that’s a hit
When the recognized leader in headphone design and the world’s top mobile brand hook up, you can bet your CD collection they’ll create an amazing experience. Monster and Nokia’s best mobile music brains have already developed two premium headsets, which deliver an incredible audio experience for your mobile lifestyle. And this is just the beginning. Whether you’re listening to your favorite music or talking with your favorite people, the Nokia Purity by Monster headsets range promises to be the ideal companion for your mobile device.

Audio that’s number one
Nothing is more important for music fans than the quality of their audio. Fortunately, Advanced Monster driver technologies deliver accurate reproduction of low bass without distortion, clear mids, and crisp highs for a purer listening experience. The on-ear headset’s sound-isolating earpads provide superior sound isolation, while the in-ear headsets have 5 variable sized ear buds and noise isolating tips. Thanks to Monster engineered sound, both have high performance speakers, which help you really feel your music, too. And because it’s Nokia, both headsets have been specifically designed to deliver incredible-sounding music from your mobile device.

Design that swaggers
Great design isn’t just about how things look, but how they work as well. The Nokia Purity by Monster range has focused as much on form as it has on function. First off, they’re made from sturdy, scratch resistant premium materials, and both in-ear and on-ear are ultra comfortable, so you can listen to your tunes for hours. Add to that tangle-resistant cables and the choice of four kicking colours, and you can see why it’s easy to become a Nokia Purity fan.
Mobile that rocks
Chilling out to your tunes is all important. But what about calls? This is where the Nokia Monster collaboration really pays off. The Nokia Purity by Monster lets you take incoming calls and keep your hands free, while ControlTalk enables you to control your music and calls with just one touch – play/pause, volume, and answer/end controls are all built-in. What’s more, the noise isolating design of the in-ear headset means you’ll be able to hear your calls crystal clear.

Extras that are in tune
If you’re already pogoing with anticipation, the extras will get you jumping even higher. The in-ear headset comes with 5 sizes of ear buds, and both include a colour matched cable with ControlTalk for Nokia Windows phones, 3.5 mm connection adapter and a cool carrying case to keep your headset safe. Everything the mobile music fan needs for unbeatable beats.
After trying out the Nokia Purity by Monster headsets, we’re convinced you’ll be as happy as a groupie with a backstage pass. But don’t take our word for it. Pump up the glam and try them for yourself.

Glenn Roland, Vice-President of New Platforms and OEMs at EA, told Conversations recently that mobile gaming was the fastest growing sector of the games industry.
Mobile gaming was ‘absolutely critical in EA’s digital transformation,’ he said.
Helping to support this growth has been the partnership between EA and Nokia in the unique proposition that they offered to people with a Nokia Asha device.

The deal was that, if you’d bought a new Nokia Asha phone, then you could download, and keep forever, 40 great EA Games – for free!
Looking back on the relationship, which was signed at Nokia World in October 2011, Glenn is quick to pay tribute to the Nokia team who made it happen.
“Support from Nokia was instrumental in getting engaged with the local marketing teams in all the regions. They helped ensure that we could really deliver this message to the end users so they understood what they were getting when they bought an Asha product,” says Glenn.
Above expectations
As for EA, the partnership gave the company access to hitherto relatively unexplored markets. So, did this ‘unique and compelling’ offer work?
“Oh my goodness. It worked above our expectations. We’ve seen huge success in many of the unexplored markets across Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific.”
Some of the individual games that have proved incredibly popular with Asha owners all over the world include Need for Speed: The Run, Need for Speed Shift, Bejeweled, FIFA and Medal of Honor.
Looking ahead
However, Glenn remains tight-lipped about new games that are coming up for the Asha devices. Only revealing:
“We do have a new slate of products that we’re working on but we’re not ready to announce those titles yet.”

When we do hear any exciting news, we’ll be sure to bring it you here on Conversations.
For now though, we can celebrate a great first year of the unique and compelling offer that EA and Nokia were able to present to all Asha owners.
Success is never guaranteed, but Glenn says he was confident that this always had a good shot of working.
“We saw a huge opportunity to access a market that we were not accessing before and Nokia’s position in those markets is still one of incredible performance,” he says.
“You’ve been a great partner of EA’s, and we want to continue to encourage that strategic partnership and reach these new users all around the globe.”

On HERE.com you can select different views: map view, satellite view and terrain view. But what sets here.com apart are the photorealistic 3D views for 25 cities around the globe. They are not only beautiful, you can search and plan routes without leaving the 3D experience, to better get the feeling for a place.
Additionally, if you are planning a route by car, you can see on here.com a preview completely in 3D of what it will look like to drive to your destination. And if you have those stereoscopic goggles, you can actually enter a whole new dimension.
Here.com is also providing many useful city facts, weather forecasts and travel suggestions to help you plan your visit. To complete your experience, you can save all the places you discover on HERE.com in your collections to take them with you.
But let’s have a look at some of my favourite cities around the world that I think you should definitively visit, with the help of our 3D images from here.com.
Let’s start with the city where I graduated – Milan. It has a beautiful Gothic cathedral and mountains in the background. If you climb to the top of the cathedral and you look towards the mountains on a clear day, you can spot the small village I’m from.

Then there is the eternal city Rome. A city full of history. You can see here the ruins of the Colosseum and Imperial Forums, but this is just the tip of the iceberg of the magnificent architecture you can find there. Have a gelato while strolling around.

If I skip Berlin, the city where I currently live, then San Francisco is definitively my favourite city in the world. The weather is great, never too cold or too hot, the food is delicious and the Golden Gate Bridge is almost surreal in its beauty. Take the cable car from Powell to Fisherman’s Wharf for the most touristic experience.

Another very fun city is London. I never get bored there and I can seriously shop until I drop. Just remember that Big Ben is the bell, not the tower.

But probably my European favourite is Stockholm. It’s so beautiful, has lots of design shops and you can find ABBA everywhere. If you love Xmas markets, there is one at the Skansen, the world’s largest open-air museum.

Among my new favourite cities, Melbourne shines for its great restaurants, especially the Italian ones. Sometimes I think that Australia is like a better version of Italy, but with cute animals. Federation Square you can see in 3D on HERE.com is definitively one of the best spots in Melbourne.

Last but not least the most beautiful city of the southern hemisphere. Someone once told me that Sydney looks better than necessary. Fact is that you cannot ignore the stunning architecture of the opera house and the harbour bridge.

Have you used 3D views on HERE.com? Let us know what are your favourite spots in the comments section below or send a Tweet to @heremaps.

Here at Nokia Connects we like nothing more than a good session of checking out what you guys have to say about some of the latest phones, not just in words, but on camera, where you often wear your heart on your sleeve and say just what you think (there’s no Backspace key when you’re mid-review).
So without further ado, the Nokia Lumia 820 is under the microscope today. We’ll start as always with a nifty Nokia Lumia 820 unboxing – this one from geekyranjit:
Ranjit covers all the bases and it’s an excellent look at the phone. He even throws in a couple of opinions among the facts – the phone is ‘pretty solid….with a premium feel’ and the ‘keyboard is very responsive and easy to type [on]‘.
Moving on to a review now, Aaron from PhoneDog has a review of the Nokia 820 – and he has so much to say, he’s split it into two parts:
He does spend some time mentioning other devices (in a Nokia Lumia 820 review), but in the comparisons, the Nokia comes out really well. There’s so much to say, it might be worth taking a break between Parts 1 and 2, just to recover and gather your thoughts before jumping in to the conclusion.
Highlights include:
‘great personalisation and customisation’
‘the extra value applications…are great’
Finally for today, I found this nugget – a Nokia Lumia 820 camera test video from GSMinfo:
Have you had a chance to spend some time with the Nokia Lumia 820? Formed your own opinion and committed it to digital paper (blog) or film (YouTube/Vimeo)? If so, I’d love to see it, so leave me a comment with a link, or send it to us on Twitter, and I’ll check it out.

We recently conducted a Twinterview with Dean Anthony Gratton (aka @Grattonboy) about his experiences with the Lumia 920. Dean is listed as one of the ‘Top Marketing Book Authors on Twitter’ in Social Media Marketing Magazine and has even been featured in the 50 “Top Dogs” on Twitter.
After the interview he kindly went on to review the phone over at Bit Rebels. He even managed to #Switch his partner in crime over to the Lumia 920 during the trial!
Here are some of the highlights of his review and Twinterview:

He then backed up these initial thoughts in his review.
“It’s a refinement unlike any other device (please discard your Apple iPhones) because Nokia, with the new Microsoft Windows Phone 8 OS, has provided a holistic user experience that Apple can only envy. The smartphone has grown-up, and this device represents the next generation of smartphone technology”.
It became clear to us that there wasn’t just one Gratton in this trial process. Both @Grattonboy and @Grattongirl were at logger heads sharing the Lumia love!

There was even some actual wrestling for the phone!
“Both Sarah (@grattongirl) and I wrestled (on occasions, affectionately) with each other taking it in turns to experience the Nokia Lumia 920. Sarah downloaded anything and everything to compare the experience against her Apple iPhone 4S.”
Overall, Dean was impressed with the phone. So impressed, in fact, that he didn’t want to send it back!
“The only thing that makes us remorseful about the Lumia is the fact that, as reviewers, we have to return it; a sad reality that’s made us consider going into temporary hiding to avoid the DHL courier – honestly, he’s going to have to pry it from our desperate fingers!”
Thanks Dean and Sarah. Make sure you check out Dean’s full review over at Bit Rebels.
