W dniu światowej premiery HTC One (M8), czyli 25 marca 2014, rusza przedsprzedaż tego telefonu w sieci Play.

Play jest jednym z czterech operatorów w Europie i pierwszym operatorem w Polsce, który będzie oferował nowy smartfon firmy HTC – model One (M8).
Już dziś od godziny 16:30 nowy flagowiec HTC będzie dostępny w przedsprzedaży w Play za pośrednictwem sklepu internetowego e-shop. HTC One (M8) dostępny będzie już od 1 zł w abonamencie 179,99 zł.
W ramach przedsprzedaży do każdego zakupionego egzemplarza dodawane będzie oryginalne etui marki HTC (do wyczerpania zapasów).

Jakość sieci PLAY coraz lepsza

W najbliższych tygodniach Play będzie stopniowo wprowadzał T-Mobile jako głównego partnera roamingowego poza zasięgiem swojej sieci.

„-Zawarliśmy umowę, która w naszym przekonaniu podniesie jakość usług oferowanych klientom Play.” – oświadczył Jorgen Bang-Jensen, CEO Play. W pierwszej kolejności Play będzie wykorzystywał sieć T-Mobile jako podstawowego partnera poza zasięgiem swojej sieci. W późniejszym okresie operator zmieni przeznaczenie części swoich częstotliwości z pasma 1800 i 900 MHz, co zaowocuje lepszą jakością usług oferowanych wszystkim użytkownikom Play w tym roku.

„– Jesteśmy podekscytowani perspektywą współpracy z T-Mobile. Wierzymy, że ta spółka podziela naszą wizję świadczenia coraz lepszych usług klientom.” – podkreśla Jorgen Bang-Jensen.  Współpraca obejmuje wszystkie rodzaje technologii oraz wszystkie zakresy częstotliwości. Umowa została podpisana na okres siedmiu lat.

Play będzie w dalszym ciągu współpracował z Plusem i Orange oferując zasięg tych sieci swoim klientom.

For part two of our Xperia details series we caught up with Masaaki Tahara, the engineer behind Xperia Z2‘s re-vamped audio experiences to talk front facing speakers and digital noise cancelling technology.

Tahara:
“Given its renewed focus on video entertainment, with Xperia Z2 we wanted to create an audio experience that would help people to immerse themselves in the content in front of them. There were two key ways we approached this, firstly through our digital noise cancelling capability, (which quite literally shuts out the outside world to draw you into the audio experience), and secondly through a dramatically improved speaker system that allows people to showcase their music in more social situations.

Digital noise cancelling works by attaching two small microphones to the earpieces of the MDR-NC31EM headset. These feed sound back to a special digital noise cancelling circuit in Xperia Z2 which reads it, flips the sound waves upside-down and plays it back into the earpiece. When the two waves meet, because they are the opposite of each other, they cancel each other out, and in this way we are able to eliminate up to 98% of background noise. We combine this technology with a bigger driver in the earpieces to produce a better, clearer sound – all of which is a long way of saying you get to experience your audio in brilliant clarity without being distracted by background hum.

The other major area of improvement is in the way we re-created the speaker experience. Firstly and perhaps most importantly, we switched the speaker layout so that the two speakers are on either ends of the phone and face forward – straight at the listener. If you’ve ever been at concert and stood at the side of the speaker you’ll know how much of a difference it makes to have the sound coming at you rather than going away from you. Secondly we’ve introduced some incredible new software to help create clearer, fuller sound. We’ve even created our own version of surround sound through a technology called S-Force Front Surround. This uses the fact that the speakers are spaced further apart to virtually re-create surround sound, and the effect is very dramatic.

In short – we recognised that if we’re going to create a phone that helps people both to re-live experiences and create new ones, then we have to make those experiences every bit as good as real life. Our ears are every bit as important as our eyes – people remember important moments with perfect vision and incredible sound and the changes we brought to Xperia Z2 are a huge step forward in achieving this.”

Currently in their 61st year, the Red Dot Design Awards are one of the world’s largest and most renowned product design competitions. The awards celebrate the finest in product design from around the world, so it was with immense pride that we found out that both our Xperia^TM Z Ultra Android smartphone and our QX lens-style camera series for smartphones have been rewarded with Red Dot’s ‘Best of the Best’ awards for this year.

We caught up with Naoe Kaneta and Takahiro Tsuge, two of the designers behind Xperia Z Ultra and the QX series respectively, to catch their reaction following the announcement:

Naoe Kaneta:
“I’m delighted! It was such a rewarding experience creating this product, for me and everyone else who worked on it. With this award, we’ve really highlighted the strength of Xperia series as a design concept. I’m very pleased that this model received such a significant award and I’m grateful to everyone involved.”

Takahiro Tsuge:
“Despite being a simple cylindrical shape, the design of QX series was a great challenge and was a success thanks to many people. The honour of receiving this award goes to all of the people who were involved.”

Alongside these products that scooped the top prize, Xperia Z1, Xperia M, Xperia C and a number of other Sony products also stood out from the 4,815 entries to be awarded Red Dot Design Awards for high design quality, as well as an Honourable Mention going to Sony’s Smartwatch 2.
